Brother Darrell Brightmon

Brother Darrell J Brightmon was inducted into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Pi Lambda Chapter in Galveston, Texas on November 30, 2017. He is originally from LaMarque, Texas in Galveston County.  Darrell earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston in Mechanical Engineering.  He has also earned a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Houston.  Currently, he is employed by National Oilwell Varco (NOV) as the Director of Business Intelligence and Information Systems. His responsibilities include global projects for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems across North America, Latin America, Europe, Far East and Middle East North America.

 Brother Brightmon is the proud Past GrandMaster of Mount Sinai Grand Lodge AF & AM of Texas, a Thirty-Third Degree Sovereign Inspector General of the United Supreme Council Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masonry within the Southern and Western Masonic Jurisdiction.  As a member, he also serves as the Grand Treasurer for the Masonic Congress and a Trustee on the National Board for the United Supreme Council. He was inducted into the 100 Black Men Greater Houston Chapter in 2012.

Within the Greater Houston area, Brother Brightmon founded a 501c3 charitable organization called the Mount Sinai Grand Lodge Community Foundation where he serves as the Chief Executive Officer. The Mount Sinai Grand Lodge Community Foundation is serving the community of Kashmere Gardens in the outreach areas of food bank programs, blood drive programs, education and youth projects, and senior citizen community service projects.

Brother Brightmon has 4 children and married to Cherlyn James Brightmon.  He attends Lilly Grove Baptist Church, in Houston, where he participates as part of the Men’s Ministry group.
