Willie B. Wynne, Sr. of Galveston received his reward of eternal rest on Thursday, January 29, 2009.
Willie was the tenth child born to Stephen and Hattie Sanders Wynne in Fordice, Texas. A longtime resident of Galveston, he was a retired educator and coach from the Galveston Independent School District. He was a member of the Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. In his quiet time he took pleasure in reading.
His parents, four brothers; four sisters and two grandsons preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish memories: his devoted wife: Doroethea Wynne; sons: Willie Wynne, Jr. (Terri) and Moses Hunter, Jr.; daughters: Verette Redmond, Cheryl Hunter, and Dee Parish (Marvin, Sr.); adopted daughter: Phyllis Smith (Robert); nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren; his sister, Ms. Steve Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
