Leslie A. Burns is a January 1964 graduate of Prairie View A&M College (University) with a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Education. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with a federal agency, The US Department of Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service. After working in many different counties across the state of Texas, it was time to settle down. He began a 25 year career in Public Health beginning in Galveston and concluding in Houston with his retirement in 1990. Soon afterward, he accepted a position with Health Enterprises of America, a company managing over 100 Long Term Care Facilities in Texas. He was Regional Director of Operations for the Southeast Texas Area for 11 years.
He was initiated into the Graduate Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Pi Lambda Chapter, Galveston in 1971 and has been a Life Member since 1989.
