Brother Carl L. Lomax was inducted into the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Gamma Pi Lambda Chapter in Galveston, Texas on November 21, 2015. Carl is currently employed with the City of Galveston Police Department assigned to the Patrol Division. Brother Lomax has been with the Galveston Police Department for over 30 years and is currently assigned to the Juvenile Detective Division, and previously assigned to the Identification Division, Bicycle Division and the Patrol Division.
Brother Lomax began his career with the City of Galveston in August 1981 with his initial assignment in the Code Enforcement Division, serving as an Inspector/Compliance Officer. In January 1984, Brother Lomax transferred to the Galveston Fire Department where he served as an Assistant Fire Marshall. His duties there included Arson Investigations, building plan reviews, annual inspections for code violations, and local school programs and public presentations. In spring, 2014 Carl graduated from the University of Houston Downtown Campus where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently enrolled in the master’s degree program pursuing a degree in Juvenile Justice and Psychology. Carl and his family and attend Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock, Texas.
